CO’s Update

HELLO!!  Hope you are all well and healthy.

Some quick updates for you, we continue to slowly move forward – we have submitted both permission for virtual training and for in-person training, however there are some severe limitations on in-person training and we’re not quite sure how that will work for a squadron of 150+ cadets.

Please understand we have not forgotten you nor have we abandoned the program – there will be an open ZOOM meeting coordinated for Wednesday 21 October for you to check in – say hello and to ask questions of the squadron staff.  Details will be published in THREE locations, here on the Squadron Website, Squadron Facebook Page and the Squadron Discord.  ALL CADETS ARE REQUIRED TO BE ON THE DISCORD for future training purposes.  If you have not, please go to this link to start

Cadets must all sign in with their Rank and FULL NAME.

A list of promotions will be posted tomorrow evening.  (Rank Changes)

A list of new appointments will be posted tomorrow evening.  (Position Changes)

Virtual Training will commence the first week of November for all cadets in all levels.

Talk soon…..

Update 8 September

A quick update for all our stakeholders, cadets, parents and staff.

The squadron remains in a state of stand-down for all cadets at the moment.  The Formation Direction (Cadets & Junior Canadian Rangers) has provided us with direction to remain closed to in-person training at a minimum until 1 October 2020.  We have begun to reach out to our senior cadets and the staff to begin coordinating training as per the Training Directive, Provincial and Municipal Guidelines as well as any direction from our Host – Vecova.

Cadets who are intending to return MUST complete this online Form no later than the 10th of September.  Some have already done so via email or the discord – don’t do it twice!   https://forms.gle/bG9p4Gkw3RCzRSBW6

Currently recruiting remains closed, until we can ensure the safety of the members of the squadron as it stand now, ensure that our training plan meets with current requirements and the physical space and staffing exists within the squadron, the only cadets who will be allowed to “join” are siblings of existing cadets and transfers from other units.  Please be patient – we hope to open to a limited number of new recruits as soon as possible.

We will “see” you soon.

Commanding Officer – 781 Calgary Squadron
